Kidbrooke Park Learning Centre (KPLC)

Based within Kidbrooke Park Primary School, KPLC is a specialist provision for primary‑aged children in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. As a short‑term intervention service it supports children at risk of permanent exclusion, fostering positive educational and social outcomes.

Teaching Assistant

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year – term time plus 5 inset days.

APT & C Scale 2 – Spine point 3/4 – £23,161 actual salary.

Role Overview

You will work closely with pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your responsibilities include supporting pupils in small groups, one‑to‑one settings, and within the classroom environment, and supervising playtimes and lunch breaks. A degree of flexibility is required to meet the needs of the children and the school.

  • Experience working with children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Resilience, flexibility and commitment to teamwork.
  • Experience working with SEMH and SEN (strong advantage).

The role involves regular contact with children, so successful candidates will receive Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974).
