The Role
As the Baby Room Leader, you will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and caring environment where babies can thrive. You will lead by example, supporting your team to deliver outstanding childcare while building strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the Baby Room team, ensuring high standards of care and education.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework.
- Monitor children’s learning and development through observations, assessments and planning.
- Ensure the room is welcoming, safe, clean and well organised at all times.
- Build positive partnerships with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress.
- Support, mentor and develop staff within the room through regular guidance and supervision.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider team to maintain excellent standards across the nursery.
- Promote a positive, caring and inclusive environment for children, families and colleagues.
What We’re Looking For
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
- Previous experience working within a nursery setting.
- Experience leading a room or senior practitioner experience looking to step into a Room Leader role.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine passion for providing outstanding care and education.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
- Paediatric First Aid certificate is desirable (or willingness to obtain).
