Role Overview

We are hiring a Children’s Home Registered Manager at Merida, our specialist campus in Newmarket, to lead a small residential home. You will manage a dedicated team providing trauma‑informed care to 2 young people aged 12–18 with severe and complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Home Management: Manage a small, 2‑bed high‑acuity home.
  • Clinical Support: Direct access to consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists.
  • Integrated Education: Work hand‑in‑hand with our registered on‑site Dunbroch School, focusing on independence and employability.
  • Rewards: Entry salary up to £65,000 per annum (DOE), a £10,000 welcome bonus paid on registration, and up to £10,000 annually in quality/commercial bonus.

  • Bespoke Care: Create tailored care plans covering therapeutic, educational, and social needs.
  • Standards: Maintain high therapeutic standards in line with Ofsted Quality Standards.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the campus Head of Service, clinical staff, and local authorities to secure successful transitions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 2 years in residential childcare, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
  • Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is required; Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred (or willing to enroll within 6 months).
  • Strong understanding of trauma‑responsive care, children’s mental health, and Ofsted SCCIF regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence.
