Senior Network Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our growing team of like-minded tech people. Should you choose to accept, your responsibilities will encompass:

Responsibilities

  • Resolving monitoring issues for our internal Infrastructure
  • Ensuring core networking and hosting platform are performing at optimal levels
  • Design, plan, and test networking platform projects, for maintenance, expansion, and upgrades
  • Ownership of delivering internal projects to a high standard
  • Escalation for the service desk of client issues they cannot resolve
  • Mentor non-senior engineers to develop skills and knowledge
  • Participation in our on-call rota for the Networks team

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Hold a Service Provider or Enterprise Network (Juniper/Cisco/etc) certification at the Professional level; Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer or equivalent Next‑Generation Firewall vendor certification (Desirable)
  • Working knowledge of the ITIL Framework
  • Extensive experience with multi‑vendor products is essential. Juniper, Cisco, and Palo Alto Networks experience is desirable
  • Proven experience in planning and implementing networking projects
  • Experience using monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk etc. Experience working with complex Wi‑Fi deployments & Unified Communications
  • Experience working with BGP in an ISP environment
  • Experience working in an MPLS environment
  • Strong understanding of ticket systems and understanding priorities and SLAs

Essential Soft Skills

  • Effective communication
  • Methodical approach to diagnosis and documentation
  • Independent research; organisation and prioritisation
  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Excellent conversational fluency in English is required to clearly explain complex technical issues
