Responsibilities
- Provide practical, business-focused advice on data protection and privacy compliance, including GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, international data transfers, data governance, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements involving data protection and data-sharing provisions, including DPAs, intra-group agreements, vendor contracts, technology agreements, and data processing terms.
- Lead on key privacy deliverables, including DPIAs, LIAs, data mapping, DSAR responses, privacy notices, records of processing, and internal privacy policies and procedures.
- Support the design and implementation of privacy frameworks, data governance programmes, vendor risk processes, and compliance controls, working closely with legal, compliance, product, technology, and business teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer in the UK or an equivalent jurisdiction, or experienced privacy professional with strong data protection, privacy, or information law experience.
- Strong working knowledge of core data protection regimes, including GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, and broader privacy, digital, and data-related regulatory developments.
- Experience gained in private practice, in‑house, consulting, or privacy advisory environments, supporting commercial, technology, data‑driven, or regulated organisations.
- Solid understanding of the data lifecycle, privacy risk management, data governance, commercial privacy issues, and the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic, business‑focused advice.
