Role: Weekend Home Care Assistant
Location: Chard, Ilminster and the surrounding areas
Pay: £13.50 per hour PLUS travel time and petrol expenses
Hours: Part time hours – Weekends only
Shift Pattern: 07:00–14:00 and/or 16:00–22:00
Care South, a leading not‑for‑profit charity, has exciting opportunities for Home Care Assistants to join our Somerset Care at Home team supporting clients with a variety of needs in their own homes across Somerset.
This Home Care Assistant role is community‑based; applicants must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle. As a Home Care Assistant with Care South, we pay for not just your contact time but also your travel time, plus a generous mileage rate of 40p per mile.

About you
- Previous experience in a care setting is desirable but not required
- You have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Flexible in the hours you can work and able to work every other weekend
- Strong attention to detail and reporting skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to undertake one
