Residential Support Worker — KCT Care, Sandwich, Kent £13.50 per hour | Full‑Time | Part‑Time. At KCT Care, we believe every child deserves a safe, stable, and nurturing place to call home. Based in Sandwich, Kent, we are a specialist two‑bed residential children’s home supporting young people aged 8 to 16 with learning difficulties and dual diagnosis needs. We are looking for a warm, committed, and resilient Residential Support Worker to join our small, close‑knit team — someone who genuinely wants to make a difference in the lives of the children we support.
About the Role
Working 12‑24 hour shifts with sleep‑in duties, you will be a consistent, trusted presence in the lives of our young people — supporting their daily routines, personal development, and emotional wellbeing in a home environment that feels exactly that: a home.
- Providing a safe, warm, and nurturing environment for young people
- Supporting individual care plans and daily routines
- Building positive, trusting relationships with the children in your care
- Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reports
- Working collaboratively with the Registered Manager and wider team
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year’s experience working with children (essential)
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare — preferred, or willingness to work towards it
- A patient, resilient, and team‑focused approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Right to work in the UK — we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time
