About the Role
As a Gardener at a Barchester care home, you will help create the kind of stimulating environment that enables us to deliver quality, person-centred care. By maintaining our grounds to the highest standards you will ensure our home always makes a great first impression and that residents can fully enjoy the outside areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Looking after equipment and structures such as fencing.
- Keeping grounds safe and tidy, including clearing snow and ice in winter.
- Planting flowers, shrubs and trees.
- Showcasing your talent annually in the fiercely-contested Barchester in Bloom competition.
About You
We are looking for someone with a passion for the great outdoors and general gardening experience. You should have a good understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to use garden treatment chemicals in compliance with COSHH regulations.
Other attributes valued include being trustworthy, professional, a team player, patient, empathetic, and having a can‑do approach. You should be able to work around the needs of our residents.
