Position
Primary Teacher (SEN) – qualified teacher with SEN experience to join a specialist secondary school located on the edge of the New Forest National Park, starting September 2026.
The school supports pupils aged 11‑16 in a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment for a wide range of special educational needs, including Autistic Spectrum Condition, social, communication and sensory needs, specific and moderate learning difficulties, and mental health challenges. Staff are trained in trauma‑informed and attachment‑aware practices, and the curriculum is tailored to meet each student’s social, emotional and academic needs. Pupils are taught in small groups with strong support from experienced Learning Support Assistants, enabling individualised teaching and relationship‑building.
The successful teacher will be responsible for delivering a primary‑style curriculum, adapted for a secondary‑age cohort, across a range of subjects – particularly English, Maths and topic‑based learning. A calm, creative and flexible approach is essential, along with a passion for working with young people with complex needs.
