About the Role
This role is being advertised by Brightwork for a prestigious client in the Gyle area of Edinburgh. We require a Temporary Part‑Time Facilities Assistant for the client’s site.
Working Hours
28.8 hours per week, Monday to Friday: Monday 07:30‑12:48, Tuesday to Friday 07:30‑14:00. The post holder must also be available for weekend and public holiday on‑call rota and to support cover for staff absence, so flexibility is required.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will primarily work across Domestic Services and may be required to support Reception, Mailroom, Catering and other Facilities services once suitably trained.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven relevant experience in a similar environment.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Good level of physical fitness and ability to undertake manual work.
- Good keyboard skills and working with PC.
- Customer care or equivalent work experience.
- Confident, approachable and cheerful disposition.
- Ability to work on own initiative and to follow instructions.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Desirable Skills
- Driving licence.
- Previous experience in catering environment.
- Experience in Domestic Services environment.
- Good knowledge of HACCP.
- Previous NHS or Council experience.
- Experience with cleaning monitoring systems/auditing.
- Experience with CCTV and access control systems.
- Experience with switchboard/reception duties.
- Level 2 in food safety.
- National workbooks for catering/portering, cleaning.
- Health & Safety training, including manual handling and COSHH.
Benefits
Hourly rate of £14.22. Additional benefits can be discussed.
