To provide a specialised, comprehensive and confidential patient‑centred clinical administration and secretarial service to Consultants and their teams in accordance with Departmental, Trust and National standards, policies and procedures. To act as a source of advice and guidance regarding the specialism.
Responsibilities
- Welcome, receive and greet all visitors to the area, providing the first point of contact for all service users, dealing with and resolving routine enquiries and taking appropriate action as necessary, liaising with others as appropriate.
- Implement, update and maintain both manual and electronic systems and databases according to Trust policies and procedures.
- Deal with all calls received in a professional manner, ensuring telephone standards are met.
- Provide clients with the relevant information, documentation and advise as to the appropriate contact for further assistance.
- Ensure all communications associated with the appointment process (e.g., with clinicians, patients, GP’s and relatives) are undertaken in a timely and appropriate manner.
