HVAC Duct Cleaning Specialist

Position Summary

The HVAC Duct Cleaning Specialist serves as the entry point into the HVAC trade at Hunt’s Services. This position is designed for individuals who want to build a long-term career in the HVAC industry by developing a strong understanding of residential comfort systems, airflow, duct design, indoor air quality, and customer service. As a Duct Cleaning Specialist, you will perform professional duct and dryer vent cleaning services while gaining hands‑on experience with HVAC systems. Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Duct Cleaning Apprentice (if assigned)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duct Cleaning and Indoor Air Quality Services

  • Perform residential air duct cleaning services according to company standards.
  • Perform dryer vent inspections and cleaning services.
  • Inspect duct systems for airflow restrictions, damage, leakage, contamination, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify indoor air quality concerns and educate homeowners on available solutions.
  • Maintain a high level of workmanship while protecting customer homes and property.

HVAC System Exposure and Learning

  • Develop a working knowledge of residential HVAC equipment, duct systems, airflow principles, ventilation, filtration, and indoor air quality products.
  • Assist with basic duct modifications and repairs as needed.
  • Participate in ride‑along, training opportunities, and field education to build HVAC technical knowledge.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and prepare for future advancement opportunities within the HVAC department.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver exceptional customer service during every interaction.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, filtration improvements, and indoor air quality solutions.
  • Clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and service options.
  • Build trust with customers and contribute to referrals, reviews, and repeat business.

Operations and Teamwork

  • Coordinate effectively with dispatch, customer service, and management teams.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and job notes.
  • Keep vehicles, equipment, and job sites clean, organized, and professional.
  • Ensure all tools, materials, and safety equipment are properly maintained and stocked.
  • Attend training meetings, safety meetings, and company events.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction, trades, customer service, duct cleaning, HVAC, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass applicable background and drug screening requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, insulation, temperature extremes, and other environmental conditions common to the HVAC industry.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance when necessary.
