Key Stage 2 Teacher

Location: Barnsley

Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Start Date: September 2026

About the Role

As a Key Stage 2 Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire pupils and support their academic and personal development. You will assess progress, adapt learning to meet individual needs and create a classroom environment where children feel motivated to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 or a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality primary education.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

Required background checks include a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
