Emissions Technician

Peterborough (Site based)

Initial 12 Month Contract – likely to be extended

Hours: 37 Hours a week Mon – Thurs 8am – 4pm, Fri 8am – 3:30pm

The Emissions Technician will manage compressed gas systems and install, service, calibrate and maintain a fleet of emissions measurement equipment. This will include assisting engineers in conducting technical investigations of current and future emissions measurement technologies and processes in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and control the gas systems used by various equipment types within the facility to measure gaseous engine emissions. Liaise with suppliers, order gas, keep all records and documentation up to date, and solve related problems.
  • Practical, hands‑on responsibility for evaluating and deploying measurement equipment.
  • Operate measurement equipment and conduct diagnostic investigations.
  • Perform Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and calibration of emissions measurement equipment.
  • Modify facility plant/test rigs and equipment.
  • Evaluate products and processes in the emissions measurement discipline.
  • Provide first‑line breakdown cover.

Qualifications

  • Technical Apprenticeship trained with electro‑mechanical bias or equivalent extensive industry experience.
  • Capacity for continuous learning and sharing knowledge with peers.
  • Initiative and self‑starting attitude.
  • Experience as an analytical systems/equipment maintainer.
  • Understanding of Root Cause Analysis techniques and permanent corrective actions.

Up to £22.70p/h PAYE plus holiday and pension contribution OR up to £30.80p/h Umbrella.
