The successful candidates will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred dermatology care across a network of community clinics throughout Kent.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direction of Consultant Dermatologists, GPwSIs, Specialist Nurses and other healthcare professionals, the post holder will provide clinical and administrative support to ensure the smooth and effective running of dermatology clinics.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients to clinic and support them throughout their appointment.
- Assist patients with dignity, privacy and respect at all times.
- Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, equipment and supplies for clinics and procedures.
- Support clinicians during consultations, examinations and dermatology procedures.
- Act as a chaperone during clinical examinations and treatments in accordance with organisational policy.
- Assist with minor surgery clinics by preparing equipment, stocking procedure rooms and supporting clinicians as required.
- Support post-procedure care under the supervision of a registered clinician.
- Assist with dressing clinics and other delegated care activities following appropriate training.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic systems as required.
- Ensure clinical areas remain clean, safe and compliant with infection prevention and control standards.
- Monitor and replenish clinical stock and supplies.
- Support the administrative and operational functions of the service to ensure effective clinic flow.
Regional Working
This is a regional role requiring flexibility to work across multiple community clinic locations. The successful candidate will be expected to travel between sites to support service delivery and patient access across Kent and surrounding areas.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use are desirable.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards.
- Experience working in a healthcare, care, customer service or patient-facing environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic IT skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- Awareness of infection prevention and control principles.
- Willingness to travel between community clinic locations as required.
- Previous experience within an outpatient, community, GP practice or hospital setting.
- Experience supporting clinical procedures.
- Interest in dermatology and skin health.
- Understanding of the role of a clinical chaperone.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and patient-centred care principles.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
