What Will You Be Doing?
As a Support Worker, you will work as part of a dedicated team to provide high-quality housing and support services to vulnerable young people and adults, enabling them to develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to live independently.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Support and Key Work: Delivering tailored support to assist residents with practical independent living skills (like budgeting, cooking, and personal care) and helping them access health, education, and employment opportunities.
- Safeguarding & Risk Management: Promoting the safety and welfare of residents, identifying safeguarding concerns, and contributing to support and safety plans.
- Housing Management: Helping residents understand their tenancy rights and responsibilities, assisting with rent collection/arrears prevention, and reporting maintenance issues.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Working closely with Social Workers, Health Professionals, Mental Health Services, and other partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
What Skills and Experience Do You Need?
To be successful in this rewarding role, it is essential that you have:
- Relevant Experience: Experience working with vulnerable people or relevant life/lived experience that enables you to empathise with and support young people and adults.
- Key Knowledge: A strong understanding of safeguarding children and adults, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
- Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure, and confidently deliver group sessions that promote learning and independence.
- Flexibility: A willingness to work a rota pattern falling between the hours of 8am to 9pm, including some evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
Desirable criteria include a Level 2 qualification in Housing, Health and Social Care, or Youth Work, as well as knowledge of the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and trauma-informed practice.
