End of Life Care Healthcare Assistant – Devon

We are currently recruiting multiple Band 2 End of Life Care Healthcare Assistants to join our well-established community team across Devon.

Main duties of the job

As these are community-based roles, you will be responsible for planning your own work, responding to changes in patient conditions, prioritising care needs (including hygiene, nutrition and hydration, comfort, monitoring vitals, and more) as detailed in the personalised care plan and ensuring you escalation appropriately to senior staff within the multidisciplinary team in a timely manner.

What we’re looking for

  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care OR an equivalent
  • Hold a current and valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle which includes business insurance
  • Knowledge of palliative and end of life care.
  • Hold person centred conversations, communicate sensitively with the person and those important to them in a nonjudgmental, empathetic, supportive, and professional manner.
  • Participate in the assessment, care planning, review and evaluation of holistic care management plans within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Undertake risk assessments to support safe delivery of care.

Hours: 22:00pm–07:00am night shift

Salary: Band 2 £25,272 per annum, in line with NHS Agenda for Change (AFC) + enhancements and Marie Curie employee benefits package

Locations: Community-based within Devon
