General Manager – Build to RentBirmingham | £50,000 + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager to take the lead at one of Birmingham’s most prominent Build to Rent communities. Working for a leading UK Build to Rent operator, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of a thriving residential development, complete with an extensive range of resident amenities and communal facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading, motivating and developing the on-site team
  • Driving a customer‑first culture and delivering an exceptional resident experience
  • Overseeing all aspects of facilities and operational management across the development
  • Managing complex building systems, including communal water and heating systems
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance and adherence to all relevant legislation and procedures
  • Supporting leasing performance and resident retention initiatives
  • Handling and resolving escalated resident complaints professionally and effectively
  • Managing service partners and contractors to ensure high standards are maintained
  • Monitoring and managing operational budgets and expenditure
  • Producing reports and communicating regularly with key stakeholders and clients
  • Continuously identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing a large‑scale Build to Rent, PBSA, or similar residential operation
  • Experience leading and developing multi-disciplinary on‑site teams
  • Strong facilities and operational management knowledge
  • Exposure to complex residential developments with extensive amenities
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A proven ability to manage difficult situations and resolve escalated complaints
  • Budget management experience and commercial awareness
  • Confidence working with multiple stakeholders and senior clients
  • A hands‑on approach with a genuine passion for customer service and community engagement
