Senior Java Developer

Requirements

• Proven development experience as a Lead Engineer in a commercial development team with expert understanding of Java and JavaScript and wider experience in tools and frameworks across the stack, including:
• Java (21) and Spring Boot
• AWS and cloud-native architecture
• Microservices and event-driven design
• RDBMS / NoSQL databases
• Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• TDD / BDD frameworks
• Commercial experience with agile methodologies
• Ability to consider clients’ wider business concerns when making technical decisions and manage stakeholder challenges
• Experience implementing architecture, DevOps, performance or security and ownership of best practices as a Lead Engineer (e.g., TDD, SOLID, XP)
• Comfortable mentoring junior engineers and supporting Squad Leads, providing technical guidance as the most senior engineer on a project while ensuring the development team achieves project goals and maintains quality standards
• Working knowledge of CI/CD practices and deployments
• Experience writing effective documentation and knowledge sharing
