Our client has an opportunity for a Quality Lineside Engineer to join them on a contract basis for 12 months with possible extension.
Role: Quality Lineside Engineer
Location: Broughton, Flintshire. Fully onsite
Contract: 12 months (possible extension)
Hourly rate: £32.96 + shift allowance – via an Umbrella company, inside IR35
Clearance: BPSS required prior to starting
Hours:
- Initially on a standard day shift (no uplift). Once fully trained, shifts will be as below:
- Double day shift pattern (alternating weeks)
- Week of mornings – 6:00 am to 1:10 pm
- Week of afternoons – 1:30 pm to 8:40 pm
- 20% shift uplift
What you’ll be doing
- Provide specialist Quality support and advice on drawings, parts, processes and support services, and independently assure that Quality requirements have been met.
- Ensure that the Quality system is being adhered to within the business through surveillance activities.
- Ensure that certification processes are consistently defined and applied within the business.
- Coordinate and lead the resolution of reported quality/technical issues from business teams and customers, ensuring that appropriate corrective and preventive action is taken by the accountable function through use of multifunctional team activities and that the originator of the issue is informed.
- Perform initial investigations (e.g., Events, QLB’s, NC’s), to assess probable root cause, informing the accountable function and ensuring corrective and preventive action is taken (ambition one shift) through problem‑solving analysis through multifunctional team activities.
- Conduct investigations to assess the probable root cause of any deficiency noted during process confirmation activities, informing the accountable function, and ensuring corrective and preventive action is taken.
- Compile and present a Quality overview to the leadership team within the business area.
Requirements
- Quality experience is essential.
- Ability to interpret drawings.
- Aviation experience is ideal; automotive, manufacturing or production experience at large companies will also be considered.
- Ability to problem solve and use associated problem‑solving tools (PPS, 5Y, Ishikawa, etc.).
- Good interpersonal skills – ability to challenge appropriately whilst maintaining strong relationships.
- Data analysis skills – interpret data sets, graphical data and draw conclusions.
- Work well as part of an integrated team alongside operational and cross‑functional team members.
- Quality or engineering based background (desirable) within a major manufacturing industry.
