Job Description:

Role Overview

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of renewable energy assets and contribute to the UK’s green energy transition. The position is part of the Power Control team, managing day‑to‑day operation of transmission and generation assets, liaising with key stakeholders, and supporting safe, compliant, and efficient power generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Transmission Network Control for maintenance and ancillary services.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including TSO, DNO, OFTO, and O&M providers.
  • Prepare and implement switching programmes for maintenance works across offshore generation and transmission assets.
  • Execute safe operation, escalation of alarms (SCS, protection, SCADA, LV, utility) and initial incident handling.
  • Maintain specialist technical knowledge to support teams across regions and platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Solid understanding of Electrical Safety Rules and ability to provide Safety from the System.
  • Previous Electrical Safety Rules authorisation as a 400kV SAP or Control Engineer.
  • Experience operating SCADA applications or equivalent.
  • Proactive self‑directed learning and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including NESO/DNO’s.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Commitment to safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Location and Working Hours

Site based at our Hub in Barrow‑in‑Furness. Shift pattern includes nights as well as days.
