The University is recruiting for Software Developers to support the implementation of a new student record system and the development of integrations between the encompassing systems.

You’ll lead the way by:
- Implementing scalable, high quality, secure and high-performance integrations through systems analysis, specifications, designing, programming, configuring, testing, deployment, user training and documentation.
- Collaborating with relevant users to ensure the effective integration of systems, where possible using adopted integration standards and middleware.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of IT developments and software analysis, design and programming tools.
- Assisting with the provision of user documentation, training and training material in the use of information systems, where needed.
- Bringing a positive, “can do” attitude to the role; assisting the university in supporting and developing its digital estate.
What you’ll bring:
With a good knowledge and practical experience of successful software application development using MS SQL and Microsoft.NET Core (ASP.NET, C#.NET and Restful API) within the Azure platform, you will work as part of an Agile development team, working with a variety of stakeholders from across the University to develop integrations to support the implementation of the new student record system.
You will also have excellent interpersonal and well-developed communication skills.
Additionally, you’ll:
- Have good knowledge and competency in business analysis and design methodology.
- Have practical knowledge and hands on experience of developing within the Azure platform, e.g. Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grids.
- Have thorough knowledge of RDBMS e.g. SQL Server, Oracle.
- Have practical knowledge of web development including, CSS, HTML, HTTPS.
- Have practical knowledge of secure programming techniques e.g. OWASP, both generally and for the adopted programming languages.
- Be able to design technical solutions to meet strategic and business requirements.
- Be motivated, and able to establish timelines and prioritise competing work.
