The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead the day-to-day finance function whilst taking ownership of financial reporting, controls, compliance and working capital management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a finance team across reporting, transactional finance and treasury activities
  • Ownership of monthly management accounts and Board reporting
  • Preparation of interim and year-end consolidated financial statements under IFRS
  • Managing external audit processes and key adviser relationships
  • Maintaining robust financial controls, governance and compliance procedures
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management activities
  • Providing commercial insight and financial support to operational stakeholders
  • Driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and reporting

This is a highly visible role, offering regular interaction with the Executive Leadership Team and significant exposure to strategic decision-making.

The Candidate

We are seeking a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant potentially looking for their first Financial Controller role with:

  • ACA or ACCA looking for a second move in industry
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS reporting
  • Experience managing audits and statutory reporting requirements
  • A proven track record of leading and developing finance teams
  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, hands-on approach combined with commercial awareness
  • Experience within a fast-paced, growing business environment

Exposure to a listed, private equity-backed or multi-entity organisation would be advantageous.
