Skilled PSV Fitter

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced PSV Fitter to join our engineering team. This role involves carrying out mechanical maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Public Service Vehicles (PSVs), ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and fully compliant with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and mechanical repairs on PSV vehicles
• Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, and suspension
• Conduct vehicle inspections in line with company policies and DVSA standards
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure ongoing roadworthiness
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and carry out repairs as required
• Complete all job cards, service sheets, and maintenance records accurately
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health & safety regulations
• Work collaboratively with the engineering team to maximise fleet availability

Requirements

• Proven experience as a PSV Fitter, HGV Technician, or similar role
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance and repair (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Good understanding of PSV systems and components
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexible approach to shift work, including weekends
• Full UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable but not essential)
