Role Overview
Perform mechanical, corrosion, and bespoke laboratory testing while maintaining high standards of quality assurance and documentation. Analyse and interpret test data to produce clear and accurate technical reports. Keep current with advancements and research within materials science and corrosion testing. Collaborate with clients to understand and meet their requirements, identifying opportunities for future work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical and corrosion testing in a laboratory environment.
- Generate detailed technical reports from test data.
- Maintain equipment and ensure operation in line with HSE regulations and industry best practice.
- Work closely with internal teams to support testing operations.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Practical experience in corrosion and/or mechanical testing within a laboratory setting.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and industry standards.
- Ability to analyse, interpret, and present technical data effectively.
- Knowledge of safe working practices in laboratory settings.
- Proven problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills.
- Ability to hold or obtain security clearance in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience with Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) testing and SCC theory.
- Experience working with high‑pressure/high‑temperature systems or gases.
- Background in nuclear or other safety‑critical industries.
- Familiarity with programming or data analysis tools.
