Immediate Temporary Opportunity – Production Planner Scheduler

  • Job Title: Production Planner / Scheduler – Temporary Contract
  • Job Reward: £40,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
  • Job Availability – Immediate start preferred
  • Job Location: Wrexham area
  • Job Type: Site-based, Monday to Friday

I’m currently supporting a fast-paced, highly automated FMCG manufacturing site in the Wrexham area with an urgent requirement for a Production Planner / Scheduler to join on a temporary contract basis, minimum 3 months ongoing.

This is a key position within a high-volume process and packaging environment, where accurate planning and agile scheduling are critical to maintaining maximum operational efficiency.

Role & Responsibilities – Production Planner / Scheduler – Temporary Contract

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules aligned to customer demand and service levels
  • Sequence production across automated processes and packaging lines to optimise efficiency and minimise changeovers
  • Manage capacity planning, line utilisation, and bottlenecks within a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Coordinate materials availability, packaging requirements, and production priorities
  • Support planning for promotions, seasonal demand, and NPD launches
  • Liaise with operations, engineering, supply chain, and procurement teams to ensure plan adherence
  • Monitor and adjust schedules in real-time to respond to downtime, supply issues, or demand changes
  • Drive continuous improvement across planning accuracy, OTIF, waste reduction, and throughput

What We’re Looking For – Production Planner / Scheduler – Temporary Contract

  • Experience as a Production Planner, Scheduler, Supply Chain Planner, or Inventory Planner, or Scheduler
  • Background in FMCG, food & drink, or other fast-paced manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience planning within automated, high-volume process and packaging operations
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP / APO (or similar ERP/MRP systems) and advanced Excel
  • Ability to balance short-term scheduling with operational constraints and demand changes
  • A proactive individual who can hit the ground running and deliver immediate value
