About the role
Justteachers is looking for a dedicated and proactive Job Coach to support learners aged 18–24 at a forward-thinking SEN college in Coventry. This full-time position is due to start in September 2026, with the potential to continue long term.
The college supports young adults with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), focusing on developing independence, life skills, and meaningful pathways into employment or further training. As a Job Coach, you will play a key role in preparing learners for the world of work by delivering tailored employability support and facilitating successful work placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support learners in developing essential employability skills, such as communication, punctuality, problem‑solving, and teamwork.
- Work one-to-one and in small groups to deliver job coaching sessions tailored to individual EHCP outcomes and aspirations.
- Source, coordinate, and maintain meaningful work experience placements in the local community.
- Provide on-site support in workplaces, helping learners adapt to real‑world expectations and routines.
Pre-requisites
- Experience working with young people with SEND, ideally within a post-16 or further education setting.
- Strong understanding of employment preparation for learners with additional needs.
- A driving licence and access to a vehicle may be beneficial for supporting placements across Coventry.
- Two relevant references required.
