Job Overview

South Tyneside Council is seeking a Care Worker at Clasper Court, South Shields (NE33 1LN), starting 24 July 2026. Initial shifts are 24/7/26 07:00–15:00 and 25/7/26 14:30–22:30. Flexibility across a rota including nights and weekends is required.

Responsibilities

Provide care and support to residents, maintain dignity and safety, administer medication, support daily living activities, maintain records, and work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), Care Certificate (if new to care), First Aid and Manual Handling certificates, Medication Training.
• Clear enhanced DBS for adults and children.
• Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
• Desirable: specialist training such as dementia care or safeguarding.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team; commitment to dignity, respect, and safeguarding.
