The role
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our innovative Hospital at Home (H@H) service within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Fixed Term, Part Time
- Location: Borron Street, Glasgow
- Shift Pattern: Between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on a rota basis, Monday to Sunday, with no 12-hour shifts required
Key responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on personal care, including hygiene, toileting, and support with daily living activities
- Undertake delegated clinical tasks such as observations, simple dressings, specimen collection, and eye care
- Support patients with complex care needs within their home environment
- Recognise changes in patient condition and escalates concerns promptly to registered staff
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times
- Assist with stock control, equipment use, and general support of the nursing team
- Build compassionate relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
- SVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent experience or willingness to work towards this
- Experience of delivering care in a health or social care setting
- Ability to work independently and confidently as a lone worker
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across a wide geographical area
- Understanding of patient confidentiality, safety procedures, and professional boundaries
- Ability to respond calmly in challenging or emergency situations and follow clinical guidance
