Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning through high-quality classroom practice.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to help pupils make excellent progress.
  • Assist teachers in preparing learning resources and maintaining an engaging classroom environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support children’s learning and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including educational visits, school events and extracurricular activities.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment where every child can succeed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant Level 2 (or above) in a primary school setting.
  • A relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification, together with Level 2 English and Maths (or GCSE Grade4/C or above).
  • Experience of supporting individual pupils and small groups to achieve their full potential.
  • Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
  • Excellent team‑working skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
  • A calm, organised and flexible approach with the ability to work under pressure.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, promoting children’s wellbeing and supporting an inclusive learning environment.
  • A desire for continued professional development and career progression.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills.

Employment Details

This is a part‑time position, working 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), term time only on a fixed‑term basis.
