Salary: £130,000 – 143,000 per year
Requirements:
- We require strong commercial experience developing Embedded Linux solutions.
- We require experience with Buildroot for creating and maintaining embedded Linux systems.
- We require strong knowledge of Embedded C/C++.
- We require experience with Linux kernel configuration, customisation, and optimisation.
- We require experience enhancing and maintaining existing Linux platforms.
- We require real-time Linux experience, including performance tuning and optimisation.
- We require BSP development and hardware bring-up experience.
- We require device driver development and debugging experience.
- We require strong experience working with ARM processors and ARM-based platforms.
- We require cross-compilation and embedded toolchain experience.
- We require version control experience using Git.
- We require experience with API integration and file transfer mechanisms within embedded systems.
- We require experience implementing USB and Bluetooth connectivity solutions.
- We require experience developing features for pushing and synchronising files to cloud platforms.
- We require experience working closely with hardware and firmware engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
- Desirable: commercial experience within the audio industry or developing embedded audio solutions.
- Desirable: understanding of analogue-to-digital signal processing or audio hardware integration.
- Desirable: experience modernising legacy embedded Linux environments.
- Desirable: bootloader experience, including U-Boot.
Responsibilities:
- We will review the existing Linux implementation.
- We will enhance the current architecture.
- We will bring the platform up to date using modern Embedded Linux best practices.
- We will improve performance, stability, and real-time capabilities.
- We will work closely with hardware and software teams.
- We will play a key role in the ongoing evolution of our embedded products.
- We will contribute to enhancing an existing Embedded Linux platform and delivering the next generation of embedded technology.

We are hiring an experienced Embedded Linux Engineer for an initial 6-month contract with a competitive day rate outside IR35.
