About The Role
Leeds City College are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at our Quarry Hill Campus. The post holder will work closely with curriculum staff across the department in a varied and rewarding role, designed to support learners’ progress, development, and success throughout their studies.
The successful candidate will provide support within both practical and theory-based learning environments, helping students to develop their skills, confidence, and independence as they work towards achieving their qualifications.
The role involves working closely with teaching staff to provide personalised support for learners with a range of needs, ensuring they can fully engage with their learning and make progress. We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience, knowledge, or qualifications within areas such as Music Production and backstage work, Media Studies, Public Services, and Art & Design, as this will enable you to provide valuable subject‑specific support and contribute to a positive learning experience for our students.

Please note, this is a part‑time reduced year role. You will work 24 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The pro rata salary for this role is £15,358.
What You Will Do
- Provide support within the classroom and off‑site visits.
- Help provide support for students with additional needs, i.e. wheelchair users, hearing impairment, visual impairment, etc., as necessary.
- Involved in planning, preparation and assessment of learning as part of the course team.
- Providing in‑class support to meet the needs of students who have High Needs and SEND.
- Providing curriculum teachers/assessors and Learning Support team members with verbal and written reports on students who have High Needs or SEND.
- Assisting with emergency evacuation plans and practices, and helping with emergency evacuations.
- Keeping accurate and timely records, recording progress and strategies used, as required.
