Job Description

Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch is seeking a Painter and Decorator to join the pre‑opening team for this highly anticipated new luxury hotel opening later this year. Located at the end of The Mall opposite Buckingham Palace, the hotel will feature 100 elegant rooms and suites and 17,500 sqft of private residences. It will open with two signature restaurants – Coreus by Clare Smyth and Café Boulud by Daniel Boulud – as well as a world‑class spa, state‑of‑the‑art fitness facilities, and grand event spaces, including a ballroom for up to 320 guests.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, painting, and finishing guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces to an exceptional standard
• Delivering all decorating schedules on time while maintaining the highest levels of quality and attention to detail
• Ensuring the safe handling, storage, and use of paints, finishes, and solvents
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in immaculate condition at all times
• Adhering rigorously to all Health & Safety policies and departmental procedures
• Demonstrating polished, professional, and discreet guest interaction consistent with five‑star service expectations

Qualifications

• Recognised trade qualification in Painting & Decorating (preferred)
• Proven experience in professional painting and decorating
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills exercised with professionalism
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting agreed timelines
• A strong work ethic and pride in workmanship
• Experience working within luxury hospitality, heritage, or high‑end residential environments is highly desirable
