Mobile Plant Fitter

About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team. As a core member of the maintenance function, you will carry out reactive, predictive and planned maintenance across our sites. This is a mobile role covering locations within the Glasgow area only, with a company van and tools provided. Working hours are Monday–Friday, with overtime available.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, fault‑find, maintain and repair a wide range of equipment including hydraulic power packs, pumps, gearboxes, conveyor systems and treatment machinery.
• Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operational performance.
• Maintain, monitor and document all service, maintenance and CMMS records.
• Identify, investigate and report machine faults and damages using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring issues.
• Perform MIG, TIG and other welding methods as required.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay compliant and aligned with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Completed a nationally recognised mechanical or fabrication apprenticeship (minimum Level 3), ideally higher‑level or time‑served.
• Proven background maintaining and repairing heavy plant and mobile machinery in engineering environments.
• Able to work independently, managing your own time, workload and site responsibilities effectively.
• Committed to high standards, attention to detail and safe working practices.
• Full UK driving licence (company van and tools provided).
