Job Description Advanced Pharmacist – Adult Medicine & Urgent Care (Band 8a) n Kettering General Hospital | University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group n Full-Time, Perm or Bank n Start Date: As soon as possible n About the Role n We are working with Kettering General Hospital to recruit an Advanced Pharmacist to join their Adult Medicine & Urgent Care division. n This is a senior clinical role providing leadership within the Admissions Unit, Adult Medicine, and Emergency Department, supporting the delivery of a proactive, patient-centred clinical pharmacy service. n Key Responsibilities n n n Deliver an advanced clinical pharmacy service across Adult Medicine and Urgent Care pathways n n Provide expert advice on complex medicines management to clinicians, nurses, prescribers, carers and patients n n Lead and develop clinical pharmacy services within the Emergency Department and admissions areas n n Support the delivery and optimisation of ePMA systems and medicines optimisation strategies n n Promote safe, effective and evidence-based use of medicines across the division n n Contribute to rapid admission and discharge pathways, ensuring continuity of pharmaceutical care n n Supervise, train and support pharmacy staff rotating through clinical areas n n Lead on medicines safety, governance, and compliance, including controlled drugs and security n n Contribute to strategic planning and service development within urgent care services n n This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality pharmaceutical care across acute and emergency pathways, supporting improved patient outcomes. n Essential Requirements n n n Master’s degree in Pharmacy (MPharm or equivalent) n n Current GPhC registration n n Significant post-registration experience within hospital clinical pharmacy n n Strong clinical knowledge across acute and general medicine n n Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills n n Experience working within multidisciplinary teams n n Desirable n n n Postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification (Diploma/MSc) n n Independent Prescriber qualification n n Experience within Emergency Department or Urgent Care settings n n Experience in service development, audit, and leadership n n Knowledge of ePMA systems and medicines optimisation strategies n n Why Apply? n n n Senior role within a busy and dynamic urgent care environment n n Opportunity to influence and develop clinical pharmacy services n n Work within a supportive multidisciplinary team n n Be part of a Trust focused on innovation, patient safety, and service improvement n n Opportunities for leadership development and career progression n n n n n Seniority Level n Not Applicable n n n n Industry n n n Hospitals and Health Care n n n n n Employment Type n Full-time n n n n Job Functions n n n Health Care Provider n n n n n Skills n n n Medicine n n Pharmacy n n Urgent Care n n Pharmaceutical Care n n Strategic Planning n n EPMA n n Patient Safety n n Admissions n n National Health Service (NHS) n…
