We’re recruiting for an experienced RGN Deputy Home Manager to join a beautiful, small nursing home in Wigan, Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established elderly nursing home with a fantastic reputation, a stable staff team and a supportive Home Manager.

If you’re currently working as a Clinical Lead Nurse, Unit Manager, Senior Nurse or Deputy Home Manager, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

The Role

As Deputy Home Manager, you’ll support the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursing home while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care, governance and resident wellbeing.

You’ll lead by example on the floor, mentor the nursing and care teams and ensure residents receive outstanding person-centred nursing care.

Working Pattern

  • 3 x Clinical Shifts: 8:00am – 8:00pm
  • Every Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm Supernumerary

This combination provides an excellent balance of hands-on clinical leadership and protected management time.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day management of the nursing home
  • Provide strong clinical leadership to nursing and care teams
  • Deliver safe, effective and person-centred nursing care
  • Maintain compliance with CQC standards and clinical governance
  • Support audits, medication management and care planning
  • Supervise, mentor and develop nursing and care staff
  • Promote excellent resident outcomes and family satisfaction
  • Ensure the home maintains the highest standards of quality and compliance

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC PIN
  • Previous experience as a Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager, Unit Manager or Senior Nurse
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of CQC regulations and clinical governance
  • Passion for elderly nursing care and delivering exceptional resident outcomes
  • Committed to supporting and developing staff
