Justteachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Leeds from September 2026. About the role:

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high‑quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will inspire students to develop a passion for science, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

You will join a collaborative department committed to achieving strong academic outcomes while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The school places a strong emphasis on professional development, ensuring staff are supported throughout their career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (specialism welcomed)
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND students
  • Maintain strong classroom management and a positive learning environment
  • Prepare students for assessments and examinations
  • Contribute to departmental planning, meetings, and curriculum development
  • Support the wider school community through extracurricular activities where appropriate

Pre‑requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in a Science‑related subject
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level (including placements for ECTs)
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculumExcellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
