Location: Whitland, South Wales

Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 per annum (Depending on experience & Qualifications)

Working hours: 07:00 to 15:00

About Us

Our Stores & Logistics Warehouse function plays a critical role in supporting the deployment, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure. Through effective management of materials, equipment, and assets, we ensure operational teams have the resources they need to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and self‑motivated Site Services Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day management, maintenance, security, and operational effectiveness of our logistics and storage operations in Whitland, South Wales.

Reporting to the Regional Logistics Manager – South Wales, this is a varied and hands‑on role that combines site management, stores operations, inventory control, transport coordination, facilities management, and stakeholder engagement. As part of the role, you will work independently, both within the warehouse and across the yard environment, taking ownership of site performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage site facilities, maintenance, housekeeping, security, and operational compliance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for landlords, contractors, and service providers.
  • Oversee remote unmanned locations, including Bridgend and Swansea.
  • Manage inventory, stock control processes, cycle counts, and stock accuracy.
  • Carry out daily material picking and issue materials in line with company procedures.
  • Process stock transactions accurately using SAP and Microsoft 365 systems.
  • Support operational teams with the collection and return of materials.
  • Undertake collections and deliveries between depots and operational sites.
  • Maintain Class C/Class 2 and Driver CPC qualifications.
  • Coordinate HGV movements for six‑weekly PMI inspections.
  • Complete site inspections, risk assessments, and safety checks.
  • Produce and maintain accurate operational records and reports.
  • Manage waste control processes, including arranging collections for redundant telegraph poles and cable drums.
  • Ensure correct waste segregation and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of Health & Safety across all site activities.

About You: Essential Experience

  • Previous management experience within industrial, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or operational environments.
  • Experience in stores, inventory, or materials management.
  • Facilities and contractor management experience.
  • Proven experience leading teams and driving operational performance.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and compliance systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience managing multiple operational sites.
  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean practices or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience within telecommunications, fibre, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong inventory and stock control management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Competent user of SAP, Microsoft 365, and other digital systems.
  • Thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and strong levels of accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of site operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Management qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Class C/Class 2 Driving Licence.
  • Driver CPC Qualification.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Forklift Truck Licence, or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable Qualifications

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Logistics, Warehousing, or Facilities Management qualification.
