Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Support Worker to join our friendly Practice, Calsayseat Medical Group, located in the City Centre of Aberdeen. You will support the delivery of high-quality patient care and work alongside GPs, Practice Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team. We have around 12,000 patients and we are seeking someone to work 20 hours per week over 3 – 5 days. This is a permanent role.

We are a well-established teaching practice with an ethos of quality patient care that is our key driving motivation. Along with teaching students from AberdeenUniversity, we are also a training practice with FY2 doctors and GPregistrars being an important part of the team.

Our multi-disciplinary practice employed house teams include a pharmacy team supported by technicians, an experienced practice nurse, 2 Physician Associates and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. We have 2 Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) employed by CTAC, working alongside the Practice Nurses as well as a First Contact Physiotherapist in the building, 3 days per week. On-site Pathways Counselling Service and CAB consultations are a huge practical support for our patients. Essential Criteria

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Experience within General Practice or Primary Care.
  • Competency in venepuncture and ECG recording.
  • Healthcare Support Worker qualification or equivalent.

The right person will have a commitment to offering a high standard of patient care, be a great team player, be positive and motivated to provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing assistance to the doctors and other members of the healthcare team. The right candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational skills and be an active part of our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake clinical observations including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height and weight.
  • Perform venepuncture, and ECGs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Ensure clinical rooms are stocked and maintained to required standards.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures.

Salary: Remuneration will be discussed at interview
