Overview

This role is with a successful BRC AA Graded food manufacturer. The company produces high-quality food products and exceptional service to enable their food manufacturing customers to innovate and increase productivity while upholding quality.

About the QA Technician job

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the QA Supervisor and other departments to ensure the clients’ products and services meet agreed specifications, timelines, and the highest technical and quality standards. Your commitment will help maintain full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while delivering excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all quality paperwork received and/or returned from other Departments and ensure tasks (QA Matrix) and any other requested activities are completed within designated timescales.
  • Ensure that all quality and food safety systems are operated throughout all departments with full documentation and that they meet the requirements within the BRC Global Food standard and legislation.
  • Assist with customer complaints: identify root causes and determine corrective actions required to prevent further complaints; ensure complaints are closed out as per company procedure.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers, external contacts and colleagues as well as preparing and assisting in customer visits and site technical audits where necessary.

About You

The successful candidate shall have proven experience of working in a Quality Assurance environment and ideally be educated to degree level in Food Science, although this is not vital. In addition, HACCP and Food Safety qualifications are important along with being PC literate as well as an excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbally.

  • Role: QA Technician
  • Salary: up to £27,000 depending on experience
  • Location: Wigan, Greater Manchester (commutable from Manchester, Bolton, Warrington, Preston, Ormskirk, St Helens, Chorley and Bury, and other areas of Lancashire and Merseyside)
  • Hours: rotating shifts on a three-weekly schedule
