Battery Pack Principal Design Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Battery Pack Principal Design Engineer to join an innovative engineering company developing advanced battery systems for automotive, defence, marine and industrial applications.

This is a great opportunity to play a key role in the design and development of battery modules and battery packs, working on projects from concept through to production.

The Role

• Lead the mechanical design of battery modules and battery packs.
• Package battery cells, electrical components, HV/LV harnesses and cooling systems into robust, manufacturable designs.
• Produce 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
• Work closely with systems, thermal, electronics and manufacturing teams.
• Support prototype builds and production readiness.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimise designs.

You will have:

• A degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical Engineering (or similar).
• Experience designing battery modules and battery packs.
• Strong CAD skills using SolidWorks, CATIA or Siemens NX.
• Experience with mechanical packaging, thermal management and manufacturing drawings.
• Good understanding of Design for Manufacture, GD&T and engineering best practice.
• Experience within automotive, defence, aerospace, marine or energy storage would be beneficial.
