Overview

We are offering an exciting opportunity for qualified pharmacists, foundation trainee pharmacists (registering by August 2026) and those looking to move from community or acute hospital trusts into Mental Health Secondary Care. The role is a rotational post that will give you experience working across many of our sites over the whole of the Greater Manchester footprint. Mental health experience is not essential as full training will be offered in house.

Responsibilities

  • Follow a structured rotation within the pharmacy team.
  • Provide a dedicated, safe and effective, patient‑centred clinical service across the trust.
  • Rotate through specialities such as acute adults of working age, psychiatric intensive care units (PICU), older adults & later life, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), forensic services, rehab and our award‑winning substance misuse unit.
  • Contribute to service development and quality and safety through ward rounds, audits and education.
  • Work under the guidance of experienced senior clinical pharmacists and participate in routine supervision and regular appraisals.

Qualifications

  • Qualified pharmacist or foundation trainee pharmacist (registering by August 2026).
  • Strong commitment to learning and development.
  • Willingness to work in a rotating, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in pharmacy is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided.
