Class Teacher

Overview

We wish to appoint an experienced teacher on a fixed term basis, from September 2026 to July 2027, to work in Haughton School, a Primary Special School for children with moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a flexible, engaging curriculum with a work/reward approach.
• Show a nurturing approach while setting high standards for learning and behaviour.
• Exercise detailed knowledge of moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex needs.
• Advocate for inclusive practice and partner with all stakeholders.
• Maintain records of progress and support children with SEND.
• Adhere to the safeguarding policy and complete required self‑disclosure.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experienced in working with children with SEND, preferably primary aged.
• Demonstrated experience with moderate to severe learning difficulties.
• Resilient character with a can‑do attitude and nurturing approach.
