Occupational Therapist (Band 5/6) – SEMH School – Location: Putney, Wandsworth (SW15). Salary: £44,684 – £52,990 (NHS Band 6) – Band 5 applicants encouraged to apply. Contract: Permanent, Full-Time. Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 5 Days per Week.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Occupational Therapist to join a specialist SEMH school in Wandsworth, supporting secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Working within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in helping young people overcome barriers to learning by delivering evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions. You’ll work closely with teaching staff, families and external professionals to develop personalised therapy programmes that promote independence, emotional wellbeing and positive educational outcomes.
Responsibilities
Support and deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions for secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs and ASC, contributing to personalised therapy programmes that promote independence and wellbeing. Collaborate with teachers, families and external professionals to implement therapeutic plans and monitor progress. Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions to ensure holistic support for students’ educational goals.
Qualifications
- Degree in Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration (or eligibility)
- Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, including SEMH, ASC or behavioural needs
- Experience delivering both individual and group occupational therapy interventions
- Strong communication and collaborative working skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
