Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the home, including staffing, rota management, and budgets.
- Supervise and support staff, delivering training and promoting professional development.
- Implement care plans that reflect each child’s specific needs, wishes, and feelings.
- Foster strong relationships with children, staff, parents, schools, health services, and external agencies.
- Champion inclusive practices that affirm each child’s identity.
- Monitor and report safeguarding, health and safety compliance, and quality standards.
- Promote independence and daily living skills among young residents.
- Facilitate children’s meetings to encourage involvement in shaping their care.
- Ensure accurate record‑keeping and contribute to planning, reviews, and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted, regulatory and quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- QCF Level 3 in Children and Families (required).
- QCF Level 5 (or working towards) in leadership or residential care (required).
- Experience managing staff and working in residential childcare (essential).
- Proven ability to handle complex behaviours and emotionally challenging situations.
- Skilled in communication, including the use of visual and adaptive aids.
- Knowledge of care legislation and quality standards.

- Availability for shift work, weekends, and public holidays.

Location and Working Pattern
Birmingham, UK. Hybrid role based in Birmingham. Requires right‑to‑work documents for the UK. Shift work, weekends, and public holidays are expected.
