Job Description

We’re looking for a caring and reliable In Class Support Assistant to support pupils in schools in Bristol, with a particular focus on supporting children with autism. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, understanding, and confident in supporting pupils with additional needs within the classroom. The school has great facilities and friendly, supportive staff.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with autism, either one-to-one or in small groups
  • Help pupils engage with learning activities and daily routines
  • Encourage communication, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

  • Experience supporting children with autism (professional or personal)
  • Be calm, patient, and nurturing
  • Can adapt to individual needs and structured routines
  • Understand the importance of safeguarding and child welfare
  • Experience in a school or SEND setting is preferred

Essential Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK – we are unable to offer Sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas.
  • Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years).
  • Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
  • If you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70, which will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
