Belcan Engineering Services is recruiting for an Aircraft Repair Engineer to work within the Aero Repair Team in Filton, Bristol.

Permanent position – office‑based initially, moving to a hybrid working pattern once established in the role.

Aircraft Repair Engineering and Customer Service Support for Aircraft Manufacturers, Airlines and Part 21J organisations is in our DNA.

Our team is built upon 20+ years of aircraft repair engineering, heritage designing, analysing, approving and delivering minor and major primary and secondary structural repairs on behalf of one of the world’s largest aircraft OEMs.

From lightning strike to un‑contained rotor failure damage and major aircraft repair embodiment programmes covering the entire fleet for large commercial and military aircraft (fixed wing and rotors).

Responsibilities

  • Work within a team of dedicated, proactive, forward‑thinking, friendly and experienced design, static and fatigue engineers. The repair engineer’s role requires current or recent fixed wing MRO Technical Services / Airworthiness Engineering experience, exposure to communicating with OEMs, compiling structural damage reports, and digesting approved Technical Publications SRM, AMM, IPC, MPD, AD and SBs.
  • Any OEM in‑service repair experience will also be considered.
  • Construct Technical Dispositions, Repair Instructions and write approval documentation as part of the everyday job.
  • Must have the ability to use Catia V5.
  • Appreciate how the digital world can be applied to our everyday working practices, e.g. coding and Excel macros.
  • Have the ability to proactively manage tasks and possess very good tactical communication skills to provide an efficient response.
  • AOG and short‑turnaround requests are frequent; the rewards are taking control of a task from start to finish with the closure when the collated team’s work has been approved.

You will need to thrive on the responsibility of working with a highly tuned engineering team that always wants to achieve. Delivering real repairs for live aircraft, on time and to quality standards.

Working under hourly time‑scales and delivering the best solution for the life of the airframe for our customers is the minimum that we expect.

This role is primarily Monday to Friday and based in the Filton, Bristol office. Once familiar with the role and having achieved an appropriate level of delegated signatory, there is the opportunity to move to a hybrid working pattern.

There will also be the flexibility to undertake weekend working (Saturday and Sunday), providing additional variety and opportunities to support wider team activities.
