Join M&S as a Security Officer, where you will play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and secure environment for our customers and colleagues.

We’re looking for confident, customer-focused individuals who combine strong awareness with a warm, approachable attitude. You will be a visible presence in store, helping customers feel supported while keeping the business safe and secure.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a fast-paced retail environment, staying alert, responsive and ready to step in when needed.
• Create a welcoming store environment, greeting customers as they start shopping and delivering professional support to both customers and colleagues.
• Help keep our stores safe and secure, preventing loss, responding to incidents, identifying risks and supporting safe ways of working.
• Use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body‑worn cameras, to support store operations and incident management.
• Stay calm under pressure, responding to challenging situations and supporting emergency procedures.
• Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards, support operations and create a positive environment for everyone.
• Adapt quickly to changing situations to support the store when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience is preferred.
• A valid SIA licence is desirable, although not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, confident and professional approach.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
• A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe.

Important Information

All candidates must be able to provide a 5-year checkable work history within the UK.
