Description

Priory Hospital Bristol is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join the team. This is a full‑time role of 37.5 hours a week and includes enhanced evenings and weekend rates.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing. You will take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

  • Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans and undertake routine tasks to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
  • Provide practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting, ensuring compliance with procedures and relevant healthcare legislation.
  • Observe and monitor the wellbeing of patients, ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff or the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.

What you’ll bring to the role

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or hold GCSEs in Mathematics and English and should have a basic level of IT literacy. They must understand the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality. While no specific prior experience is required, the role involves frequent interaction with staff, patients and visitors on the ward. Well‑developed observational and listening skills are essential for effectively monitoring the mental, emotional and physical wellbeing of patients.
