Iron Mountain is seeking a skilled, motivated Mobile HGV Repair Engineer to join our Fleet Maintenance team.
What You’ll Do
- Onsite breakdown repairs: travel directly to broken‑down vehicles in the field to perform immediate mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs.
- Mobile fleet maintenance: conduct routine mobile HGV repairs, safety inspections, and preventive maintenance from a service van.
- Diagnostic & fault finding: troubleshoot complex mechanical, pneumatic, and 12v/24v electrical faults on location to quickly determine root causes.
- Specialist equipment repairs: maintain and service vehicle‑mounted shredding equipment, PTO systems, and heavy hydraulics at operational sites.
- Compliance & MOT preparation: ensure all onsite repairs meet DVSA MOT requirements while keeping precise digital logs.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven track record as an HGV Technician, Mechanic, or Field Service Engineer with experience working independently roadside.
- Strong knowledge of heavy mechanical systems, air brakes, suspension, hydraulics, and auto‑electronics.
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (preferred).
- Valid HGV licence (Class1 or Class2 CategoryC licence is a significant advantage).
- Proactive problem‑solving mindset with resilience to work in varied outdoor environments and ability to pass standard background and security checks.
